Happened to me a few times. The biggest irritation is it is placed in a pile near to the lost baggage desk of the airline. So you wait, wait and wait again by the carousel for the very last bag to go and then go and stand in-line to report your lost luggage.

Only to then be pointed to the pile of bags with a cheery "there you go" . Why is it beyond the will and intelligence of the baggage staff to go and put these earlier arrived bags onto the carousel at the same time as the just arrived bags from the flight

I've twice in the last 6 months wasted about 20-40 minutes with this fiasco.
