Besides, "proving" that British is best gives him great pleasure. (please note that such proofs generally hold as much water as a sieve, and would not stand up to sustained legal/mathematical examination)

As long as we are all aware when a joke is being made, and whomever hands it out is capable of taking it, such sparring should be harmless.
