OK, just got confirmation of my FS stay in Cairo next week and noticed that in addition to the room cost and taxes, this hotel levies a mandatory 11% service charge.. so with taxes and service charges this comes out to 25.5% charge on my room rate of $320 USD per night..

Anyone know what this 11% service charge is for? Is it for the use of the facility? Do I not have to tip the folks?

Anyways, I called FS reservation and asked for the breakdown of this charge, and the agent said she would get back to me.

So far I have been dissappointed with this hotel.. I booked about a week and a half ago through the FS reservation, and only today, did the hotel send me an email confirmation. In addition, what ticked me off was the email request my arrival time and flight details for the meet and greet. I had already told reservation of this information. Called reservation back and they confirmed that all information was sent to the hotel... So I sent a stern reply back to the hotel regarding this "lack of attention to detail" and the lateness of the confirmation

Will see how they handle this
