The guy who runs the site seems very helpful too. He's always posting replies to people's inquires on train travel on Lonely Planet's message boards. I use the German rail website for European train schedules, but Seat 61 is great because it generally has (recent) pictures of the types of sleeper and couchette compartments available on various overnight trains in Europe.
