Why, oh why, oh why...
...does a huge group of people congregate around the door to the HEX train as it pulls in and then stand there? Just stand there. Motionless. Silent.
What do they expect to happen? A magic carpet to fly in and whisk them to a seat through a sealed window? That they'll suddenly be bestowed with powers to walk through doors by BAA? I know the ticket price is extortionate, but that's still a bit much to wish for...
No, neither of those options seem likely nor sensible but pressing a Bloody Big Button(TM) marked 'Open' seems a pretty safe bet to me...so why do they look surprised when I implore 'Someone press the bloody button then!' from the back of the growing scrum after about 20 seconds of waiting? And, no, this was not a language barrier/unfamiliar foreign visitor problem I could be a little sympathetic to either...the dozy tw@ stood right next to the button blocking all access by others to it, sat opposite me on the train and proceeded to yabber down his mobile in a Home Counties accent

Sigh.
Right, feel better now
