In rush hour, the 605 is faster than taking the 110 downtown. I've done it many times. Now, if you know LA well, the 110 can be faster, if you're prepared to exit downtown and take side streets. I've gone over to the 2 and then taken the 210 E. I've also joined the 101, taken Alvarado to the 2, then the 210. A limo driver I once used, took the 2 to the 5 to the 134 to the 210. It seemed really fast, even in rush hour, but he also knew a really good short-cut from the 110 to the 2, which I've never been able to find. The 605 was definitely born in a kennel, but she works out best for me.
