If they sell food in CRC, they should allow people to bring in their own food as well. (Spare me the arguments about smelly and messy food, please).
A few weeks ago, my girlfriend and I were entering a CRC when the agent at the entry said that she could not proceed with her bag of food. She had a bag from Au Bon Pain of food all wrapped up (which had already been through the BOS CRC). I said she was not planning to eat it. The gentleman at the entry said that he still couldn't let her in with it. I said that we'd pack it in our carry-on bags. He said that wasn't good enough. Basically, he was saying that he knew she would eat it once inside (she actually had no intention of doing so). I almost decided to make a mockery of the whole thing (walk out, pack it in carryon, re-enter and challenge him to frisk us and find the food, etc) but rather than be confrontational, I just stuck the bag at the luggage check and we proceeded. (When I did this, he thought the idea was ingenious; I am not sure why he didn't think to suggest it himself.)
