This has been brought up loads of time on FT. The machines at LHR are exactly the same as all other BAA operated airports, but BAA seem to think that terrorists would only choose to fly from LHR.

I don't like the queues at Heathrow, but if that's how it has to be then so be it. It certainly worries me that bags aren't checked to the same standard when boarding a plane 6 junctions on the M25 away. Absolute disgrace
