Who in the world would have thought to try to get two rooms (one by 1-800 C.I. and then one by regular checkin) for the price of one and how in the world has it become a big enough problem that Hyatt would institute a rule like this (rather than changing their procedures so this doesn't happen) to combat this "fraud" if nobody on FT has even thought of or mentioned this?
Yeah, but if you think about it, doesn't this sound kinda lame? I mean, if you show up at the front desk to check in with the 1-800 ci room#, when the agent checks you in, wouldn't they see the other room? Wouldn't 1-800 ci see that you have 2 rooms on reservation (they only ask for your name)? How then does one secure 2 rooms/same name, and only pay once? You have to get the keys (assuming you plan on actually using both rooms). What if there's only one agent at the desk when you check in? They would recognize you. I'm somewhat skeptical about this as a reason. Or maybe that's why it's a fraud. It's so savvy, we can't figure it out.
