I've never tried asking for extra nuts after the nut service is complete. I'm not sure what happens with any leftover nuts (assuming they weren't all ladeled into pax ramekins), but the foil tray is probably tossed in the trash complete with residual nuts.
I've not tried asking an FA to rewarm my saved nuts either. I suspect that bread is in the warming oven later in the service, so this might screw things up.
