It's all good. Imagine not having to drive into the Valley at all, or getting to go to the airport opposite the traffic. I would drive to OXR to take the short hop to LAX and then onward, silly as that sounds. (And get to avoid the San Diego Fwy -- even with it's silly little 5-mile diamond lane just near LAX.) Plus, have someone else cover Plan B if they can't get you there? Mmmm. (I know... except for the e-fares, there's a material premium for the commuter airlines and little airports. But again, maybe we are just witnessing the stalking horse, at this point? 300,000 people on this side of the hill, and growing fast...) And of course, there will be the environmental issues, but the local military airstrips were once pretty active.
