I think depends on how you travel. Do you fly First or Coach? Do you stay at 5 star hotels or something in the middle? Do you really need lounge access? I have a Rewards Plus Gold and I earn more MR points then I would with Plat. Rewards Plus gives 1.5 MR points per dollar with AMEX travel partners. Delta is my main airline but I don't live in a city with a major delta hub, so no lounge. The lifestyle benefits... hot plates etc doesn't help me either being in Virginia. It depends on your lifestyle and where you live, will you *really* use all of the benefits to the point you'll earn back the $395.00 annual fee? I would downgrade to Preferred Rewards Green if it wasn't for the 5 fee free additional cards you get with Rewards Plus Gold. Remember with Plat you have to pay extra for additional cards. $175.00 for an additional Plat and $45.00 for an additional Gold on your Plat account.
