Tucson and the heat ...

The TUC-ORD flight was very delayed on Thursday for weather in the midwest, but surprisingly they needed to get 28 people off the plane for weight and balance due to the heat in Tucson and the added fuel we need to take on to make the trip. When they removed 28 people that has to be a total money loser for AA using the MD80.

Is this always the norm for the summer heat or just an extreme circumstance?
