Not sure exactly what config they operate between CDG and CVG... the only difference I can think of is row 7:
The first config is NTC (New Travel Concept = new seats), the A340 seats 272 (J36, Y236) and has a row #7 which is a sort of mini biz class cabin with 6 seats only. Pic is
here. Huge legroom!
The second config is NTC too but doesn't have this row #7. They have actually put 3 extra rows of coach seats (14, 15, 16) where #7 used to be.
Row 7 excepted, the layout of the main J cabin is exactly the same:
- 2-2-2
- 6 rows in the center, 4 on the left and 5 on the right
- A-B/E-F/J-K
- 70% of seats are aisle seats ^
- row 1 has only 4 seats (no A and B)
- row 6 seats has only 2 seats (E and F)
1J and 1K look great. 6E and 6F are a bit too close to the galley and lavs to my taste.
I won't discuss the old A340 config, the OTC one with First Class, as I'm not even sure it still exists. It has been reported it was still operated a few months ago to India, with the P seats sold as J seats! (with J service).
The best A340 seats are of course
here but that's another story.
The best thing for you would be to call AF or your TA and ask them to send you a paper copy of their timetable which displays all the different seat maps.
