I've never had a bad experience with the U.S. arrival authorities most likely because I am a U.S. citizen. However, I have given up on Canada. Last year I made four weekend trips to Yvr and on three of the four arrivals I got the 45 minute interrogation: "why are you here? who do you know here? why are you really here? I need to see proof of your onward travel". I don't need the hassle.
