There are so many advantageous US credit cards (e.g. with miles or with the Hilton status).

In order to sign up for such cc's one must have a US bank account, doesn't one?

Which US banks give free bank accounts to Europeans ? I have a US social security number if this helps. It would be an advantage if the account is from an online bank.
