The YQB MLL is only about 50 feet from the CATSA security area, which usually has 2 lines open (out of a total of 2 ) for one of our maybe 2 hourly DH8 flights or 4/5 daily CRJ flights to YYZ so the wait is never long.....except flights before 0630 (2 of them for a total of 80 some pax)

Also, although you only need the daily keypad code to open the door, the lounge is indeed manned by someone from the airport concession restaurant who is in there regularly throughout the day, and almost permanently at busy times.

Modest as it is, there is the advantage of no lounge dragon asking for BPs and AE cards. I sometimes go in there with whoever drove me to the airport, offer them a drink before heading through security and walking the 250 feet to the gate.

Small is sometimes beautiful !
Over the weekend, I flew from the airport for the first time. I was not sure that this airport even had a lounge; I asked the check-in agent. She told me that there was a lounge, and gave me the keypad code. She did not tell me that the lounge was landside (of security); I presumed that the lounge was airside. I went through security and found out the hard way that the lounge was landside. I was not willing to go back landside, and then come back through security, again.
