Huh, interesting. I just cashed in a bunch of miles to fly NYC-PEK in September. My preference, naturally, was for the EWR-PEK CO nonstops both ways, but they only had SleazyPass seats on the outbound. I called the Elite desk and asked specifically about availability on KE in J flying via ICN. It took the rep a few minutes, but she fairly quickly found available J seats on both JFK-ICN and ICN-PEK - and for 60K miles for the leg instead of the SleazyPass 125K! Definitely had no 24-hour wait for confirmation or anything. And best of all, it's on one of their newly refurbished 747s with KE's brand-new shell-style seats (which I gather are the same as the SpaceBeds used in Singapore's Raffles cabin) and high-speed Internet!
