Had a similar issue from SNA-SFO the other day. When I went to check-in on-line day before it said A320 and seat map was also A320, which was the originally scheduled equipment. I had 3C, but for some reason thought to myself, let's switch to 1D (the only seat left in rows 1 or 2), good thing I did, because it ended up being switched to an A319 and sure enough several people who were in FC row 3 were now given seats in economy.
i had the reverse on 195 phl-lax on may 20th. i was u/g'd with the only f seat left being 1c and with my long legs it was gonna be tough
but when i was in gate area, i was paged to the podium and was told by the g/a, "i had to change your seat"
i figured i got $crewed and downgraded as there was a big issue with a pax having to be on o2 until looked at the bp-3b in f
. where it was supposed to be a 319, i asked and she told me "it got swapped to a 320 and i know how much 1k's hate the bulkhead in first on a 319 or 320".
kudos to the g/a ^ and that was 2 swaps in one day 57(f)-47(c) and 319-320
