same old same old

Spending this week at the MMW. Again, for the fifth straight stay, no plat upgrade. I called the hotel early the day of check-in after checking the Marriott website and noticing that concierge floor rooms, jr. suites and suites we're all available at the hotel for all days of my stay. "Hi; my reservation number is ___, I'm a plat, this is my fifth stay at the hotel and I've never received an upgrade or even the concierge floor. Any possibility of an upgrade this time." "Sorry sir; the hotel is completely sold out." "But I checked the Marriott website a few minutes ago and it shows availability on the concierge floor, and suites, and junior suites." "Well, we'll keep an eye out for you." Then, later that day upon check-in; "Here's your key sir." "Did I receive upgrade or concierge floor?" "No." "How come?" "We're sold out." I dropped it and retired to my non-concierge floor non-upgrade room. As to the above posting of randomman, I'm guessing it's his client's relationship to the hotel, not any elite status, which accounts for the generous upgrade.

As to the concierge lounge breakfast; still the same old same old that I posted above. No cooked eggs, no meats of any kind (hot or cold), no cheeses. Their idea of a cooked dish remains, as it is every single day, cooked oatmeal. Never a variance. Tired looking white bread and a pastry were in a glass case, and a bowl of fruit. Coffee is very good however and the Milwaukee weather very nice this morning.

Edited to add: This is the second day of my 4 nights here. Just for kicks, I again checked the website for availability, and it still shows concierge rooms and jr. suites/suites available all week.
