I don't ask for special favors from volunteers. The problem I have is that after the alternative was made available to some, it was repeated to others that payment would only be accepted via PayPal. You can twist that around however you like, but the organizers were not beholden to anyone from whom they had not received funds and those interested in attending were not beholden to attend.

MovieMan. I've been repeatedly asked to justify why I won't be attending and I have attempted to explain that as straightforwardly as possible. I have gone out of my way to avoid pointing fingers while still giving meaningful answers to the questions asked of me. It simply became clear to me that this particular Do is not for me. I don't know why you seem to have a problem with that. I hope everyone who attends has a great time.
