Before you go all hog wild:

1. 60,000 Hilton points sounds like a lot, but in reality it's not huge.

2. Rather than just scarfing up points willy-nilly, what are your goals? What do you want do do with these Hilton points?

3. As you browse past threads in this forum, you'll see that most of us consider that spending our hard-earned points on Hampton Inns in East Overshoe, Kansas is not an economical use of them. The bang for the buck ratio goes up when you spend them in top-level properties, especially overseas.

Anyhow, once you get a realistic goal, then you plan your stays/nights so as to maximize promotions and get to elite status as quickly as possible.

If you weren't clear on the difference between stays and nights, it's likely some of the other terms aren't familiar, either. Spend some time on Hilton's website to familarize yourself with the official program rules, and them plan on spending some time here for the fine points, tips, and tricks.

It's your money you're spending; might as well get the most out of it.
