From PEK-EWR, CO did not have BusinessFirst (“BF”) available, but I wanted to book a business award and as a CO elite get waitlisted for BF and standby for BF according to COs policy if not confirmed prior to the flight. NW had told me the Korean seats were available from Japan to Beijing and that they could book them. The CO agents could not book the Korean segments. I told them that NW was able to book the Korean segments. After several failed tries with CO, I called NW and booked the award reservation with them. Has anyone had any experiences with CO booking award travel using Korean Air?

The NW agents had to book the Korean segments then send them over to Korean, and after the reservation was all booked they would know if Korean confirmed the segments. CO just said the segments were not available. I wonder why Northwest was able to book Korean and not CO? Maybe now I know one of the reasons why I have 934,000 unused CO miles and why I am flying other airlines after 25 years with NonePass.
Flying Blue said ok to LHR - AKL on Korean in C class with award miles.
One Pass said can only do Y. When I queried this, that they are both part of Sky Team and should have same arrangment, they couldn't give a reason...they just cannot do it it seems.
