Probably this is just the naive Australian speaking, but I have never tipped the housekeepers in a US hotel. I tip taxis, restaurants etc etc; just never occured to me to tip the housekeeper
Is this generally expected? And at what rate?
And I must say, in the generally moderately upmarket places I stayed at, the room was perfect regardless, and I never got asked for a tip...
