It's going the extra mile which makes the difference, if they do it with the attitude that you're inconveniencing them and they're doing you a favour - they should rightly receive some short shrift and sod off. :-:

Reminds me of the "culture clash" in that episode of Fawlty Towers where an American guest offers a "tip" to Basil to prepare a late meal... I think it was a Waldorf salad..

(For those that don't know, a BBC creation - Fawlty Towers was a fictitious hotel run by John Cleese playing Basil - famous for its awful service)
