sorry to hear your experience, but I could tell it's just your bad luck to talk to an unprofessional agent. I am always happy when I call 1-800 to change seats either for me or for family members. If you go through all voice question, you reservation should be brought to the screen in front of the agent. I have no clue why he/she still asked for PNR.
