15.5 Baggage
15.5.3 We are not liable for Damage to any item included in your Baggage which you are prohibited from including in your
Baggage by Articles 8.3 and 8.4. For Checked Baggage, those items include, for example, fragile or perishable items, valuable
items (for example, money, jewellery, precious metals), computers, personal electronic devices, stored data, any medication or
medical equipment which may be required in-flight or during your trip or which cannot be quickly replaced if lost or damaged,
house or car keys, valuable documents (for example, business documents, passports and other identification documents,
negotiable papers, securities deeds) or samples.
These except refers to damage, noi to loss or theft. I think it is disgusting if they, or any other airline, do not accept liability for theft, ie unlawful conduct, by their own employees or contractors. Especially when they mis-handle the bag in the first place, therby increasing the probability of loss due to it hanging around baggage handling areas of airports for probably far greater time than if it had transitted direct to connecting flight and been dlelivered immediately at LHE. It is also perfectly feasible to pack a laptop safe from damage in a rigid or sem-rigid suitcase with sufficient padding, etc.
