That's strange. Every time we've flown into LAX or any US airport, our luggage has always been locked with standard suitcase locks and we've never had these non-TSA type locks damaged or luggage opened. With flying from NCL, we always have to transfer, either at AMS, CDG, or LHR. There is no way I would let my luggage through these airports for transfers without being locked and up to now, we've never had the need to use TSA type locks. However, I suppose, we should never say NEVER!
