Seattle has a sales tax (8.25%) but no income tax. As one who lives in Seattle I would give the (imperceptible) nod to YVR, mainly because of Stanly Park. And if your along Robson Street for Dinner Try out Cin Cin restaurant, great experience. In General, I don’t think you could go wrong choosing either area.
