IMHO the primary reason increasing percentages of flyers are finding other carriers is that US/HP pricing very seldom passes any smell test of common sense related to either distance or quality of offering. For instance, PHX-TUS with them is $409 for a flight time of 21 minutes and a trip that can be driven legally in 50 minutes. Flight check-in to a/c deplaning is 1:55. Their "weekend special" fare is consistently and without exception $348, the same as PHX-BOS. PHX-ELP is over 3 times as far and costs $118 round trip all of the time.

I am sure they have some attempted explanation for such errors.
