Advice: my Gold # in wife's reservation
I made a reservation over the phone for my wife and gave them her FF number (she has no status). I was partially paying with a $150 voucher so I went to the airport to pay up. When I was paying I asked to reserve exit row seats for my wife, informating the agent that I was a Gold. She asked for my card and then arranged the exit row seats for my wife.
Now for the interesting part, I just got an email notice that my wife has been upgraded to first at the 3 day window for Golds. I checked the reservation online and my Gold number is now on her reservation. Obviously, the agent put it in when I gave her my card at the airport.
While I'm thrilled for my wife to get upgraded, I'm concerned that she will be bumped back to coach (in a crappy seat, no doubt) at the airport. Should I do anything or just tell her to play dumb if asked? Not that I don't want her to fly in first, but my wife doesn't travel much and I don't want there to be any problems for her. I also don't want to spend a lot of time trying to get HP to unravel this (which will probably be a pain in the a$$ as I try to explain on the phone why my wife should be downgraded from first) if she won't have any trouble getting on the flight and sitting in first. Should I just do web check-in and see what the boarding pass shows?
