Shortly thereafter, Christopher brought me a bottle of the Red Bordeaux that we shared an affinity for, discreetly wrapped in a cloth napkin. He explained, "I don't have anymore bags." It was SO nice of him. I actually don't think it was related to the duty free SNAFU, because I actually suspected this might happen way back when we were admiring the wine earlier. Christopher told me that this was the "Concorde Spirit"" although it was not clear if he was referring to the wine itself or the gifting of the wine. Regardless, it was awfully nice. Not to mention more valuable than the model planes. </font>
By sheer coincidence, I will be enjoying said bottle of wine tonight with an equally fine dining companion. Pure coincidence that we'll be drinking the wine on the day of the Concorde termination announcement. Very bittersweet to enjoy the memory but to know it was a "one and only" experience.
