Not so! Delta's 3 747-132s (N9896-8) were purchased new from Boeing in 1970 and returned to Boeing in 1974-77. They eventually went to Aerolineas Argentinas, China Arlines, Pan Am, Flying Tiger and Braniff, partially leased, some later sold.
