I need to fly between LCY and MAN, and VLM sounds like a very good airline. Real glasswares and some kinds of complimentary snacks...

What should I expect on a short LCY-MAN flight? Maybe a 8am flight into, and then a 4pm return...

Will you recommend it?

Thanks,

PS. Sorry I looked through all the threads for the past year, only a frequent flyer program inquiry on VLM.
Yes, I would highly recommend VLM. I have flown LCY-LPL with them on a couple of occasions, most recently this past weekend. Their main advantage, of course, is that they operate out of LCY with a 15 mins check-in deadline. If you don't know the airport then getting there is so much easier now with the DLR extension but parking (2 mins walk from the terminal) is not too bad at £20 per day. They fly Fokker F50s with a 2-2 configuration. They are surprisingly spacious inside and we (two burly blokes) were reasonably comfortable sat next to each other for the short flight. The overheads are also relatively big and can take a standard roll-on, albeit sideways. The two flight attendants on our recent flights were perfectly nice and efficient and served drinks with a very small sandwich. Proper glass/cups was a nice touch, agreed. My only hesitation about VLM is that I have read reviews elsewhere (airlinequality.com, I think) suggesting that they can pretty much abandon you if anything goes wrong before departure. But based on my personal experience I would certainly recommend them.
