Well considering I'm usually changing the time on those clocks from something very early like 4:30 AM to my usual 6:30 AM (or in some cases 7:00 AM), I doubt 10:00 AM is a "default" setting.

Anyway, as previously mentioned, don't click the up and down buttons for the alarm time. Push and hold the button and the time will change very quickly.
