JD power "awards" are bunk. When you see categories that sound like, best airline for flights of 500 to 1000 miles in the Northeast you can tell it's a sham. When just about every airline wins one of these (My search shows that Spirit Airlines won for customer service) it is obvious to me that they customise categories so everyone can win.

I have no idea how the Conde Nast and Zagat surveys are done.
