Unhappy Mother's Day from CO
I grabbed the mail last Thursday (May 12) and found a CO Insights. There was an offer for 700 miles for ordering Mother's Day flowers from continental.flowerclub.com. While I was in the IAH PC I called the 800 number and placed an order. Since I was on my way to visit my mom, I asked if they could deliver them the next day while I would be there. They guaranteed a Friday delivery. At 9:00 pm on Friday, I called again and was told there had been a mixup, but the flowers would definitely arrive on Saturday. I left Saturday afternoon to return home and called again from the PC to check on the order. This time there was a tape saying that "many florists are overwhelmed with orders and could not assure delivery date," yet the phone rep assured me they would probably be delivered that night.
Well, now it's Monday and still no flowers. When I just called to cancel the order and request a refund to my credit card, I was told that was not possible. They claimed they had no responsibility since they had passed the order on to a local florist, but didn't know which one. So much for my Mother's Day gift. If CO is going to endorse something in their mailers and with their name and miles, am I expecting too much to think they would checked out the reliability of this company? Not only was I charged for the flowers by "flowerclub," but they added a $12.00 for processing the order.
