the agent (as she put it) "really needed my seat" as they had an aircraft swap from 319 to a 37 and i simply asked if i could get $$ vs the free ticket as i can't get miles on the freebie. this was one of those situations where the passenger had the advantage as she needed 8 seats otherwise she'd have to be be looking at idb vs vdb. she offered $200 vs the voucher and told her that is s/b $600 becasue it's greater than 6 hrs (in this case it was overnight and i showed her the little printout i carry of the compensation offers [thanks to f/t ^]) but i'd settle for $400 instead cuz she was very nice. she laughed at the fact that "i knew too much" but said sure and that was it-so between the $$ bump vouchers and the cust relations voucher, i netted $500
