Gordon Ramsay is Britain's best-known chef and arguably the best. His flagship London restaurant has three Michelin stars and there are more stars under his tutelage. In the last few years he has increasingly been known as a TV chef and personality (see: Hell's Kitchen, aired in both UK and US versions). The website is at

Personally I think this is an interesting idea but I think the idea of a real fine dining restaurant in an airport is a strange one. It works for transfer passengers if they have six hours to kill but I wouldn't get to the airport early just to eat in a great restaurant. For me the best type of airport food is high-quality fast food: Eat and Pret are OK, Leon would be sensational (see
www.leonrestaurants.com) or fresh salads and soups like those from Chopd (
www.chopd.co.uk) - things that really taste fresh and don't require hours to eat.
Only once that I can recall I have had a full meal at a London airport, when we had chateaubriand at Chez Gerard when faced with a 3-hr delay on Friday night. It was OK, but I'd rather have been in Barcelona as planned...
