For better or worse, I have found myself enforcing where people should put there bags. Gently, politely, and explaining why. Today I was in 12D on a D9S DTW-YUL, I politely asked the woman who was seated in 18D if she could move her roller bag down closer to her seat (there was room there) so that I could put my bag above my seat. She immediately blushed, but very quickly moved her bag. Before me, the lady in 12B put her roller bag in sideways, taking up 2/3 of the bin. That annoyed me, so I put her bag in correctly, and put mine next to hers. She immediately whined that she was a Plat and flies "tons" and that the bin would never close (was her bag oversized? Gasp!). I grinned at her as I gave the bin a "gentle nudge" to close it, and all was well.

I've also (being a jerk I admit) started getting PO'd when non-elites slip into our boarding time. One couple in front of me on the jet bridge remarked, "we can get on now too, all of these people are. What's the big deal?" So I budded into her conversation to point out that we spend tens of thousands of dollars, fly tens of thousands of miles, and for hundreds of hours for the "priviledge" of being able to get on the plane and settled in first.
