Content of a note I sent to my Congressional Representatives:
Sir:
I am writing this note to you to register my disapproval and concern regarding the corporate governance and fiduciary irresponsibility of a once-great Georgia company - Delta Airlines.
As a frequent business traveler (nearly 2 Million Miles) and Georgia resident for 25 years, I have chosen to support Delta Airlines by selecting them as my airline of choice. Based on the recent actions of the Board of Directors and their executive management, I will no longer do so.
The recent decision to award obscene bonuses and guarantee the pensions of Delta Sr. Management while these very executives are laying off employees and coming to Congress for handouts and loan guarantees is unconscionable.
I request that if any bill is introduced to provide further aid to the airlines that you vote no unless these bonuses and pension guarantees are rescinded retroactively and prohibited until they deliver on a set of common sense financial metrics, like profitability and positive cash flow (after subtracting the economic benefit of any such bill).
Thank you for your time and consideration.
