Really good breakfast, open bar with snacks in the evenings. Service throughout is great.
Budapest is great, lots to do and see. People are very friendly and though many don't speak English (and Hungarian is really tough), they try their hardest to help. Has joined the EU but is not on the euro yet so still fairly cheap. Should see it before the tourist hordes overrun it (the airport is being expanded to allow for more budget airline flights) like they have in Prague.
Well I can only partially agree with you here:
We had a stay there April 12/15th and I got ugraded to one of the corner suites overlooking the Danube and St Stephens cathedral.
Fantastic view agreed, far better than the overated Cavalieri Rome view.
The lounge however had spotty and a bit indifferent service, seems everybody on the two Executive flloors was admitted, lot of kids running around. Staff made no attempt to seat visitors and the food offerings were only so-so.
A much better hotel as far as the Excutive floor/lounge goes was the Hiton Budapest-Westend, with a plus over the Castle of free internet ( by Ethernet connection)
Perhaps we where a little jaded having just come from the Hilton Prague which has one the best Hilton lounges in Europe and might IMHO even surpass the Cavalieri's lounge. Nice hotel too but the river view cannot rival the Hilton Buda.
Overall still one at the best Hiltons World-wide is the Conrad Mount Juliet, Williamstown Ireland particularly if you are staying in the main house.
