Firstly, the difference between Z4 and WS doing YYT-LON is that it was always in Z4's business plan to do transatlantic flights on the cheap. It was never in WS' business plan. In other words, WS would have to change its model a bit.

Secondly, WS doesn't have the ETOPS required yet.

Thirdly, LON may be over-served as it is by Canadian carriers. Entering the market now with already established "low-cost" charters like AT, Z4, Skyservice, My Travel Airways, etc. may be difficult. And they could probably not do it at a less of a cost than their existing competitors.

Fourthly, YYT itself may have trouble by itself to sustain a daily / close to daily service to LON. And there is not much opportunity to establish YYT as a hub and connect traffic to there.

Fifthly, it doesn't seem to me like WS likes to invest in advertising dollars on the other end of the route. Example? US. They didn't advertise in the US (ok ok, minimal at best) and there was no "returning" traffic.

However, all this being said, I personally think WS *could* make a run at the UK/IRL. They have to be very smart and careful about it though. I personally have ideas in my mind on what could potentially be possible, but I'll keep them to myself.

Doubt this would ever happen. EZY and RYN don't have any kind of agreements with any European carriers -- why would they start now, and why with a Canadian carrier? There is nothing to be had there.

Furthermore, would WS want to "align" itself with a RYN? Remember, WS is no longer a LCC. And I'm not sure they would want to be viewed as a RYN -- people would start questioning the fares they charge in Canada (575CAD return between Toronto and Vancouver isn't exactly "low cost".)
