FedEx used to allow all employees to ride on the jumpseat as a benefit (maybe they still do). The protocol was that the jumpseaters would bring cookies or cake as an offering to the crew.
Unfortunately that ended some time ago when a suicidal jumpseating pilot attacked the flight crew of an MD11 with a hammer in an attempt to get control of the plane for a 9/11 style attack on FedEx's Memphis hub. Luckily (or unluckily) he failed.
