I agree with the recommendations of Guu and Romano's Macaroni grill as more interesting eateries. Kirin is an excellent Szechuan restaurant. I also like Tropika on Robson for a Asian fusion taste.

Although a little bit of a walk, there are a lot of local eateries on Davie and Denman Street as well.
