Can hotel see that you've changed a booking since creation?
Whenever planning a trip away, I normally book my hotel rooms early using a flexible rate, then finalise other plans such as flights etc.
Later on I sometimes change the booking around, and check at least a few times per week to see if the rate has decreased. If it has, then I modify my reservation as appropriate. This can save a lot of money depending on how early you book and how closely you watch the rates as they fluctuate.
Does anyone know if the check-in clerk can see this? "Oh, Mr Undecided, I notice you modified your reservation 8 times to different rates, and checked your reservation 38 times since creation. I notice you originally wanted a King Executive room, but changed to a deluxe King room with breakfast. Geez you seem like a cheapskate trying to save the dollars you saved! Off to Floor 1 you go to one of our Deluxe Carpack view closets".
