We are heading to Duke University in 3 weeks, and I will have all day to discover the area. Are there any not-to-miss sites within an hour or 2 drive? I will try some of the eateries suggested, too. We are planning to stay at the Washington Duke Inn- has anyone stayed here? We will spend 4 days in Charleston and Savannah first then drive up for his class.
