Does anyone think Delta Skymiles seem to be giving away too many bonus miles at an alarming rate?

Not a day goes by without hearing about some kind of special bonus (double, triple, or whatever) on the local radio.(in addition to targeted emails, mailing, website, etc...)

I guess I'm a little paranoid, but this really reminded me of the last two years of the original Pan Am. At that time, I flew dozens and dozens of Pan Am Shuttle flightst between BOS-LGA and LGA-DCA. At $29 per flight, thanks to the speical 10-flight coupon books for college students. The bonus miles were 6 to 8 times the normal miles. To make it short, I spent around $2000 and my family of 4 flew to Europe in first class 4 times just before Pan Am went out of business. When Delta took over, the remaining miles got transferred to Skymiles.
