Just remember that the program you see today might not be the program you get when you become a million miler on UA. UA still has one of the top Star Alliance ff programs but I fear it is a touch too rich and may have to scale back. We have seen some early signs of that with changes to rewards. I wouldn't stay loyal to any airline for million miler status, there is just too much uncertainty. I would just look at the benefits you get year to year and where you are flying. LH, AC and UA all have great programs in that regard, depending what features and benefits you value most. Instant kk on AC, upgrades on UA and tons of miles on LH when flying premium classes are all distinctive features to look at.
