I have rented cars in Germany many times. They usually don't even bother asking for my IDL(AAA-issued). Just my US driver's license and credit card.

Are there places in Germany that rent big motorcycles to foreign visitors? I'm particularly interested in the BMWs.
If so, will my U.S. motorcycle license and IDL be enough? In my state, the motorcycle license is a different license than the driver's license. Is there even a IDL for motorcycles?
